indihiang(dot)blogspirit(dot)com

Posted under: Journal

Many people interested to make weblogs but don’t want to pay for it. That’s where Blogger and Blogsome and others alike come in with free host and domain. They provide (almost) all we need with each has their own plus and minus points. Weblogs.us with Wordpress engine has caught my attention, but it’s closed for now. The closest to it would be Blogsome also powered by Wordpress. And currently I’m testing Blogspirit for Indihiang. They have nice features such as list block with book’s list connected with Amazon, links each with RSS feed (it may come handy later), and they support multiple authors. I still trying to find out if they support multiple pages but they already provide us with “about” page. More reports coming soon.

indihiang(dot)com

Today at 8th Agustus 2005, Indihiang Web(log) Solutions has take off. Salute to Eric who has designed this simple & magnificent layout, at least for me. There are going to be a lot of story about why we build IWS. Certainly, IWS is not just another blog, it’s about our love and passion to help others to build a good quality of content, style, navigation, and web standard especially for web(log). I think we’re going to tell you a whole story in about us page later.

Maybe some of you, asking “Why is there any bracket between word of Log?” It means that our focus and interest is to learn, to build & to solve all about weblog. In WWW today, all people talking about blog and making it, but how is about 3-5 years later? Is there any blog anyway? Or, is it going to change into more advance? It means at the other side, we always try to be flexible with term of web itself that is rapidly change.

And then, “Why have we chosen simplicity at its best as a tag?” Yeah, as we’re experiencing in our daily life today, everybody has tendency to talk and do a lot in complexity way. Our society perceptions turns to be more and more complex everyday. Frequently, we don’t know what we have to do, but we do what is happening in our society now which is called as a trend. Hopefully, we could be out of reach of trend as being simple.

For celebrating this great moment, we bought indihiang(dot)com as our next domain at IDwebhost this morning. And it’s the sms they gave to me, in only a couple of seconds after completing the registration (isn’t it a great service?):

Yth. Budi, utk mengaktifkan domain indihiang.com silakan transfer Rp 85.0**,- ke BCA NoRek 0372212*** a/n Sayid Munawar.

Finally, our recipe for today: Capture this great moment, always live as simply lotus everyday, and do your best and God will do the rest.

Soft Opening

Posted under: Journal

This is the second time I’ve handcoded all codes of a single page weblog. My first was on Budi’s weblog. It’s a one-column, minimalist type. And this one is a two-column also minimalist type. What I mean by minimalist is a way of designing that putting those which are important and necessary. You can throw away the rest of it. Still all these handcoding job is quite difficult and challenging for me since I don’t have a formal education on webdesign or such. I am an architect, the one that build houses, not weblogs. But that are not going to stop me from what I’ve been doing lately, building weblogs starting from my friend’s. Please, don’t treat me as a pro-weblog-designer or CSS master or pro-blogger. I’m not there yet. You will know it first here if I ever going to be one crazy blog designer or one boring pro-blogger. Or whatever I will become. Stay with me, folks.
